1. Product Overview

This is a medium to heavy-duty industrial American high-strength D shackle (straight chain shackle / G-210 screw-pin chain shackle) with a 7/8" nominal body size and a rated working load limit (WLL) of 6-1/2 tons (6.5 TON / 6500 kg). Unlike classic bow shackles, this model uses a straight D-type narrow body for better alignment and stability in single-direction pulls. It keeps the classic G-210 screw-pin quick-connect design—no separate nut or cotter pin required—combined with a hot-dip galvanized body and high-visibility red screw pin, making it ideal for frequent assembly and disassembly, temporary connections and heavy straight-pull lifting.

2. Key Features & Design Highlights

  • 7/8" straight body, 6.5T WLL: D-body nominal size is 7/8" (approx. 22.22 mm). The red high-strength screw pin is typically one size larger (1", approx. 25.4 mm) for superior shear and bending strength. Clear body markings include WLL 6 1/2T, 7/8; CE marking can be arranged per order when required by your market. Breaking load typically reaches 4× or 6× WLL.
  • Fast screw-pin connection: Precision male thread on the pin screws directly into the body. The wide red flat head with a small hole allows hand tightening or final torquing with a bar or wrench—very efficient for high-frequency rigging turnover.
  • Straight D (chain) body: Narrower internal space than bow shackles—ideal for single chain, master link or turnbuckle connections with minimal lateral movement, suited to straight, high-load tension and lifting.
  • Hot-dip galvanized body, red pin: Dense silver zinc layer on the body resists rain, humidity and marine corrosion. The red-painted screw pin provides high-contrast visibility for field inspection.
  • Forged alloy steel: Drop-forged from high-strength alloy steel, quenched and tempered. Excellent fatigue and low-temperature toughness; under overload the steel tends to deform rather than snap brittle.

3. Primary Applications

  • Grade 80/100 chain sling terminations—aligning chain with hooks, master links or heavy lifting lugs in straight pull assemblies.
  • Port and logistics handling—rapid change of slings and fittings during bulk cargo loading and unloading.
  • Factory and mobile crane lifting—everyday hoisting, assembly and turnover of medium and large equipment where frequent disconnection is required.
  • Heavy recovery vehicles and transport securement—quick attachment and release under straight pull conditions.

Safety Guidelines

  1. Do not use in long-term fixed systems with continuous vibration or rope rotation—use a G-2150 bolt-nut-cotter pin shackle instead.
  2. Confirm the pin is fully screwed in and the flat head is flush with the body before loading—never lift with the pin only partially engaged.
  3. D-type shackles are for straight, single-direction loading only—do not use for wide-angle multi-leg or converging pulls; use a bow shackle (G-209) instead.
  4. Do not weld, heat or modify—the heat treatment must not be altered.
