1. Product Overview

This is a heavy industrial American high-strength bow shackle (G-209 screw-pin anchor shackle) with a 7/8" nominal body size and a rated working load limit (WLL) of 6-1/2 tons (6.5 TON / 6500 kg). A classic standard in heavy lifting and rigging, the G-209 uses an efficient threaded screw pin for quick hand or tool installation without nuts or cotter pins. It is ideal for frequent assembly and disassembly, temporary connections, heavy lift changeovers and high-capacity towing.

2. Key Features & Design Highlights

  • 7/8" body, 6.5T WLL: The bow body is 7/8" (approx. 22.22 mm). The high-strength screw pin is typically one size larger (often 1", approx. 25.4 mm) for superior shear and bending strength. Clear body markings include WLL 6-1/2T, 7/8; CE marking can be arranged per order when required by your market. Breaking load typically reaches 4× or 6× WLL depending on manufacturing standard.
  • Fast screw-pin connection: Precision male thread on the pin screws directly into the body. The wide flat head with a small hole allows hand tightening or final torquing with a bar or wrench—very efficient for high-frequency rigging turnover.
  • Wide bow (anchor) design: Wider internal space than chain (Dee) shackles—accepts large slings, hooks or links and allows angular movement, reducing eccentric stress concentration.
  • Galvanized body with green pin: Hot-dip galvanized silver body resists corrosion in harsh outdoor service. The green-painted screw pin provides high-visibility contrast for quick field inspection in heavy industry.
  • Forged alloy steel: Drop-forged from high-strength alloy steel, quenched and tempered. Excellent fatigue and low-temperature toughness; under overload the steel tends to deform rather than snap brittle.

3. Primary Applications

  • Heavy factory and mobile crane lifting—hoisting, assembly and positioning of medium and large equipment where frequent disconnection is required.
  • Port and logistics handling—rapid change of slings, hooks and fittings during bulk cargo and container operations.
  • Heavy vehicle recovery and specialty towing—quick attachment of tow lines to front/rear recovery points on rescue trucks and mining haulage.
  • Steel structure alignment—temporary tensioning and positioning during erection of frames, curtain walls and bridge trusses with come-alongs and turnbuckles.

Safety Guidelines

  1. Do not use in long-term fixed systems with continuous vibration or rope rotation—use a G-2130 bolt-nut-cotter pin shackle instead.
  2. Confirm the pin is fully screwed in and the flat head is flush with the body before loading—never lift with the pin only partially engaged.
  3. Do not weld, heat or modify—the heat treatment must not be altered.
