1. Product Overview

This is an industrial heavy-duty American high-strength bow shackle (G2130 bolt-type anchor shackle) with a 3/4" nominal body size and a rated working load limit (WLL) of 4-3/4 tons (4.75 TON / 4750 kg). Unlike common screw-pin shackles (G209), this model uses a bolt, hex nut and safety cotter pin for triple-lock security. It is engineered for long-term connections, frequent vibration and multi-directional loads in critical overhead lifting, rigging and towing. It is widely recognized as one of the safest shackle designs in global industry.

2. Key Features & Design Highlights

  • 3/4" heavy body, 4.75T WLL: The bow body is 3/4" (approx. 19.05 mm). The red high-strength bolt is typically one size larger (often 7/8", approx. 22.2 mm) for superior shear strength. WLL 4-3/4T with high safety factor; breaking load typically 4× or 6× WLL depending on manufacturing standard.
  • Bolt-nut-cotter pin triple safety: A through-bolt replaces the threaded screw pin. After the hex nut is tightened, a stainless cotter pin is inserted and spread at the bolt tail—preventing self-loosening from rope rotation, wind or vibration during lifting.
  • Wide bow (anchor) design: Wider internal space than chain (Dee) shackles—accepts multiple slings, hooks or links and allows greater angular movement for multi-directional and converging rigging.
  • High-visibility coating: Yellow body and red bolt/nut for easy field inspection. Pre-treatment and durable paint resist outdoor, port and marine corrosion.
  • Forged alloy steel: Body and pin are drop-forged from high-strength alloy steel, quenched and tempered. Excellent fatigue and low-temperature toughness; under overload the steel tends to deform rather than snap brittle.

3. Primary Applications

  • Heavy crane and port lifting—as the core link between wire rope slings, chain assemblies and load points.
  • Long-term guy wires, wind turbine towers, telecom masts, bridge cables and steel space frames where cotter-pin lock-out is essential.
  • Offshore platforms, marine mooring and deck rigging under continuous wave and vibration.
  • Heavy recovery, mining haulage and off-road towing in mud, shock and multi-direction pull conditions.

Safety Guidelines

  1. Never omit the cotter pin—confirm it is fully inserted and legs spread before each use.
  2. Reject shackles with visible permanent deformation, bent bolts, or wear exceeding 10% of original cross-section.
  3. Do not weld, heat or modify—the heat treatment must not be altered.
